AQUA AMERICA DISCOVERY BOOK
Aqua America, now under the Essential Utilities umbrella, is a water utility servicing eight states across the country. After years of functioning with an inefficient website, Aqua America needed to improve it’s online customer experience and explore a more holistic digital experience. The first step in this process was a lengthy discovery where the team surveyed Aqua America’s customers, analyzed the industry landscape and completed a series of other human-centered research activities. These findings were summarized into a 50 page report and designed into a 100 page discovery book. This book was designed using elements from both andculture and Aqua America’s brands to illustrate the partnership between the organizations. andculture’s clean, simple typefaces were used throughout the book to ensure easy readability and allow the reader to focus on the content in the report. The book featured a cool color palette of blues and greens to integrate the cool colors of both andculture and Aqua America’s brands into the design. Simple icon styles and friendly photography of users and employees were pulled into the report to better illustrate the main points and help reflect Aqua America’s audience.
